Education & Prevention
Education is a crucial piece in safeguarding individuals from the threat of sexual violence. An educated public is a prepared public, and as an organization that strives to create a community free from sexual violence, it is integral to prevent it before it happens. That is why SARC invests in bringing awareness to key topics such as consent, healthy relationships, safe boundaries, communication, and other positive measures promoting autonomy and security.
Identify, Respond, Prevent
Our team works diligently to educate schools, workplaces, and businesses and to empower the community to recognize, help prevent, and respond to sexual assault.
- By working with local middle and high schools in the CSRA, we hope to implement strategies that can help prevent first-time sexual assaults from occurring, help reduce risk factors, and help encourage the development of prevention strategies.
- By visiting local workplaces and businesses, we hope to express the importance of healthy professional relationships and train to identify and respond to sexual assault and harassment.
- By participating in local events and activities, we spread awareness of sexual assault and the importance of personal safety and survivor support in the broader community.
