At Sexual Assault Response Center (SARC), we put an emphasis on providing comprehensive support, healing and advocacy for survivors of sexual assault. We strive to create a safe and empowering environment where survivors can access trauma-informed care, counseling and legal advocacy. We are here for you every step of the way, providing empathetic and respectful care and support.

SARC provides a wealth of resources and services to support survivors in whatever capacity they may need.
MEDICAL
With our specialized Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs), we are dedicated to delivering compassionate and attentive medical care. Either at the center or in the hospital, SARC can complete exams, collect evidence, and refer clients to access follow-up treatment for STDs, pregnancy, and injuries.
COUNSELING
As a part of our dedication to survivors’ long-term health, SARC has professional, licensed counselors who are experienced in trauma recovery and sexual assault therapy. The counselors at SARC guide clients through their psychological and emotional struggles, offering a safe space to express their feelings, develop strategies for healing, and learn to cope and recover at their own pace.
ADVOCACY
Advocacy is providing emotional support, information, and referrals to victims/survivors, regardless of how much time has passed since the incident. This support can include responding to hotline calls, accompanying survivors to forensic exams, explaining legal processes, and assisting with basic needs.

You Are Not Alone
As a survivor of sexual assault, you may feel frightened or uncertain, and although no one may have experienced the exact things you have, there are other survivors who feel the way you do. So many people across the nation face the threat of sexual violence, but there are also many people who want to help.

Sexual Assault
An average of over 423,000 people ages 12+ are sexually assaulted or raped every year in the United States.
Less than half are reported to law enforcement.
According to data from the National Crime Victims Survey (NCVS, 2024)

Unwanted Contact
47.6% of women and 23.3% of men in the U.S. experienced unwanted sexual contact victimization at some point in their lifetime.
According to the 2016/2017 National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS, 2024)

Sexual Harassment
82% of Women and 42% of Men have experienced sexual harassment and/or assault in their lifetime.
According to data from surveys related to the #MeToo Movement (MeToo, 2024)
